I.W. Tremont, a well-established manufacturer of filtration products, has added an additional 10,000 square feet of space to its facilities in Northern New Jersey. The expanded facility space will allow the company to continue to meet essential demand for products related to the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining consistent supply of analytical and diagnostic filtration products to existing customers.
The company retooled its production capabilities in March 2020 to manufacture RNA extraction membranes for diagnostic tests, oxygen concentration filters for medical ventilators and disinfectant wipes. Due to the high demand for these products, I.W. Tremont quickly outgrew its present facility. The additional space will be devoted to production and storage of specialty materials. The company has also contracted with several specialty supply partners to dramatically increase manufacturing capacity and is rapidly moving ahead with a multi-part plan to address unmet needs for precision woven products, as well increasing capabilities in specialized materials for analytical and diagnostic filters.
“We managed to find an ideal space with shipping bays and easy access to major thoroughfares that is near our current factory,” says James. A. Averso, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We’ll continue shipping pallet quantities to our customers without pause,” he added.
I.W. Tremont was founded in 1979 and serves technical distributors and manufacturers as a private label and OEM supplier of filter media. Manufacturing facilities are certified as meeting the ISO9001:2015 standard for quality and compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices, or cGMP, which is an assurance that products are safe, pure, and effective.
