August, 2012 Tremont passes our third year Re-registration ISO9001:2008 audit.
Tremont is proud to announce the successful completion of a critical third year ISO9001:2008 re-registration audit. The audit, administered by TUV Rheinland, resulted in zero non-conformances cited. With an audit result this strong, the strength of Tremont’s quality management system is apparent. Another notable output of this auditing process is that Tremont has met or exceeded all Quality Objectives in continual improvement for this annual audit cycle.
July-August, 2012 Tremont certifies five employees as ISO9001:2008 Internal Auditors.
Tremont has demonstrated full commitment to our Quality Management System by contracting with an ANAB accredited consulting firm who conducted on-site Internal Auditor training. Five team members were chosen to participate and have successfully tested as Certified Internal Auditors to the ISO9001:2008 standard. This will ensure that Tremont’s QMS is continually reviewed by multiple auditors throughout the annual cycle.
This above average level of investment and commitment to our quality system is consistent with the demands of our customers categorized as: Fortune 500, diagnostics OEM’s and government agencies. This level of commitment is highly visible and demonstrative of a well resourced and respected Quality Team.
July, 2012 Tremont scheduled for Re-registration audit with TUV
Tremont has a scheduled annual surveillance audit for July. This onsite registrar audit is similar to those we have participated in over past years, with one critical difference. Per our QMS in concert with our registrar our audit cycle is 3 years. 2012 is the end of this 3 year cycle which calls for a re-registration audit. Salvatore Averso, President of I.W. Tremont, proudly stated in a recent company meeting “We have a healthy quality management system, a growing company and very engaged staff. There is every confidence we will do just as well, if not even better than past audits”.
April, 2012 I.W. Tremont exhibits at PITTCON®
Tremont has displayed for the first time at PITTCON, recently held in Orlando. Historically Tremont’s products have been well represented indirectly by our laboratory supply distribution channel at this show, however this year we displayed at our own corner booth space. Tremont is a well respected and rapidly growing supplier of analytical filtration and technical specialty materials. With such a diverse product offering it is important to interface directly with laboratory supply distributors, researchers as well as OEM and government representatives. This show is a perfect forum for such contact.
The show was a success with many new distributors and OEM customer relationships initiated on-site. Also, as a result of some ongoing negotiations bolstered by the attendance at the show, several new products will be launched later in the year.
January, 2012 2012 is off to a strong start

December, 2010 I.W. Tremont completes
record year.
I.W. Tremont has closed yet another record year for sales, production and new distribution. This growth is brought about in part with the introduction of 3 new product lines during 2009-2010. With these new products Tremont has diversified and bolstered offerings in the fields of microbiological QA/QC and sub-micron membrane sample preparation consumables.
The addition of Grade VSS® to Tremont's high-heat glass microfiber filtration category of products has sparked new interest in the environmental monitoring of water and high-temperature gasses. Finally the use of Tremont's unique expanded PTFE membrane products have showed marked performance increases in the emerging fields of nano-technology and bio-fuels production.
I.W. Tremont has introduced the new GRADE VSS® glass microfiber filter media. This unique grade has been specifically designed for the water and wastewater market for use in the determination of Volatile Suspended Solids testing. The chemistry of this binder free glass fiber has been designed to withstand high heat applications to 550°C with a porosity of 1.5µm. Grade VSS® has been evaluated and approved by accredited independent test labs for suitability for use in this application.
This grade bolsters Tremontâs ability to serve the environmental sciences by expanding an already impressive product line including Genuine 934-AH® (under private label), Grade E, Grade A-E and Grade TSS for determination of total suspended solids. Combined with a cohesive line of microbiological supplies and membranes Tremont is well positioned as a âone-stopâ source for water and wastewater QA lab consumables.
